From DWDD AFP Civil Relations Service Radio Website (Mar 1): Gov’t troops recover another M16 Rifle in Batangas
Another M16 Rifle was recovered by the government troops in a follow-up operation conducted today, March 1, 2017, at the encounter site in Brgy. Lumaniag, Lian, Batangas.
Said operation was conducted by the troops of 730th Combat Group, Philippine Airforce under the operational control of 202nd Bde, 2nd Division, in response to information that engaged terrorists last February 27, 2017, hid their firearms at a grassy area near the encounter site.
It can be recalled that one armed member of the New People’s Army (NPA) was killed and three high-powered firearms were recovered by the government troops at Brgy Lumañag, Lian, Batangas last February 27, 2017.
According to MGen Rhoderick Parayno, Commander, 2nd Infantry Division, the troops are still conducting reconnaissance to check if there are still other firearms, ammunition, and explosives left in the area.
