PNP ready to fight terrorism

From the Philippine News Agency (Feb 18): PNP ready to fight terrorism

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Saturday expressed its readiness to fight terrorism.

This was after President Rodrigro Roa Duterte ordered the PNP and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to fight terrorism in all its forms.

PNP chief Director General Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa said that it was the mandate of the national police to help the military to fight terrorism, particularly the threats of the ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria).

In his speech at the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Alumni Homecoming here, some 250 kilometers north of Manila, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte directed the AFP and the PNP to help in the eradication of terrorism and other lawless elements in the country.

Dela Rosa made the assurances after President Duterte mentioned in his speech the gratitude to the PMAers for their expression of support in the campaign against drugs and the campaign against terrorism.
