From the Philippine News Agency (Jan 24): President Duterte okays promotion of 6 more PNP generals

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has approved the promotion of six more police generals assigned to key positions in the Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional Police Offices (PROs) and Directorial Staff.

President Duterte approved the promotions upon the recommendation of Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Ismael “Mike” Sueno and based on the evaluation of the Senior Officers Placement and Promotion Board (SOPPB).

PNP Chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa formalized the promotion of the six star-rank police officials during simple ceremonies at the PNP National Headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City on Tuesday.

Promoted to the rank of Police Chief Superintendent were:

Sr. Superintendents Jonas Binamira Calleja as Executive Officer of Directorate for Logistics;

Jonathan Viernes Ablang as Deputy Regional Director for Administration of PRO-9 (Western Mindanao);

Leonardo Mangada Cesneros as Deputy Regional Director for Administration of PRO-18 (Negros Island Region);

Reynaldo Guban Biay as Deputy Regional Director for Administration of PRO-1 (Ilocos Sur);

Roberto Torres Tabian as Deputy Regional Director for Administration of PRO-8 (Eastern Visayas);

and Arnel Bondilles Escobal as Deputy Regional Director for Administration of PRO-6 (Western Visayas).
