From the Philippine News Agency (Jan 20): BRP Andres Bonifacio conducts recruiting drive in Iloilo City

In line with its efforts to recruit quality personnel for the Philippine Navy (PN) which is now steadily expanding its capabilities, the BRP Andres Bonifacio (FF-17), the country's third Hamilton-class cutter in service, arrived in Iloilo City Thursday for the Visayas leg of its show the flag, port visit and recruitment information drive.

PN spokesperson Capt. Lued Lincuna said the ship will be in Iloilo City until this Jan. 21.

The Navy is in need of an additional 1,000 personnel to man its growing number of ships and other assets.

Aboard the said vessel are the midshipmen/women cadets of Philippine Military Academy Class of 2017 who are undergoing training and orientation in preparation for their integration in the PN Officers Corps.

Together with key personnel of BRP Andres Bonifacio, they will conduct courtesy calls to different government officials of the city.

Also aboard the ship are personnel from the Naval Personnel Management Center Mobile Recruitment Team to conduct information drive regarding recruitment schedules and requirements.

After her Iloilo City stop, BRP Andres Bonifacio, which is commanded by Capt. Brendo J. Casaclang, will proceed to Zamboanga City and other areas of Mindanao.
