NAPOLCOM recommends promotion of CIDG chief to two-star general

From the Philippine News Agency (Dec 16): NAPOLCOM recommends promotion of CIDG chief to two-star general

The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) recommended to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte the promotion to Police Director (equivalent to two-star General in the military) of Chief Superintendent Roel Barcena Obusan who is presently designated as Acting Director of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

NAPOLCOM Vice-Chairman and Executive Officer Atty. Rogelio T. Casurao said the commission recommended the promotion to two-star rank of P/Chief Supt. Obusan since his present position call for the rank of a Police Director.

The Commission also recommended to the President the promotion to Police Chief Superintendent (equivalent to one-star General) of Police Senior Superintendent Tomas Colet Apolinario, Jr., Acting District Director of the Southern Police District, National Capital Region Police Office (SPD-NCRPO).

Also recommended for promotion to one-star rank was Police Senior Superintendent Gilberto D. Cruz who presently serves as Acting Director of the Police Community Relations Group (PCRG) of the PNP.

Casurao said that the NAPOLCOM approved and recommended to President Duterte their promotion to star rank positions after the PNP chief recommended their promotion and certified that they meet all the requirements for promotion to the next higher rank.
