BUTIG, Lanao Del Sur (DWDD) – Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff General Ricardo Visaya expresses his elation that our troops have successfully retaken the old municipal hall of Butig from the Maute terror group.

According to AFP Public Affairs Office Chief Marine Col Edgard Arevalo, the success  was not without the cost of life and limb of the lawless group, and the sweat and blood of our soldiers, but it has to be so to ensure that our people will live peacefully knowing that their soldiers are there to protect them.

In a report by AFP Western Windanao Command (WESMINCOM) spokesman Major Filemon Tan Jr., President Rodrigo R Duterte visited troops in a Tactical Command Post in Lumbayanague.
