Camp Peralta, Jamindan, Capiz A native of Sara, Iloilo and a member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class of 1984 assumed as the new commander of the Army’s 3rd Infantry Division during a change of command ceremony presided by Army Chief, Lt. Gen. Eduardo M Año today here.
 
Brig. Gen. Jon N. Aying was designated to lead various Army units in the different provinces in Western and Central Visayas regions in implementing the Internal Peace and Security Operation and the Army Transformation Roadmap in his area of operation.
Aying replaced Maj. Gen. Harold N. Cabreros, who was installed recently as Año’s vice.
Prior to this, Aying was the former Assistant Deputy at the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Plans and Programs, OJ5, GHQ, AFP. He commanded the 303rd Brigade in the Visayas from 2013 to 2015.
Other field duties include Battalion Commander of the 61st Infantry Battalion, and Operations Officer of Task Group Panay, both under 3ID.
Aying also served as a Military Assistant at the Department of National Defense; Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, G3, Special Operations Command; Executive Officer at the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Training and Education, OG8, PA; Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence, G2, 3ID, PA; and Assistant Chief of Staff for Training and Education, G8, 2ID, PA.
