According to the news item “A report will be presented to the Peace Committee for the Southern Philippines (PCSP) with a view to finalizing the OIC Resolutions at the 43rd Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) meeting due to take place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, 18-19 October 2016.”

During the visit, the OIC delegation led by Special Envoy Ambassador Sayed Kassem Elmasry, accompanied by representatives of the Department of Muslim Minorities and Communities, was briefed by Secretary Jesus Dureza, Presidential Advisor on the Peace Process, on the plans of the Duterte Administration to resolve the issue on the Bangsamoro.

Dureza bared the government’s plan, a legislative tract wherein an enabling law will be passed that will create a more meaningful Bangsamoro autonomous political entity and federalism tract where a federal state for the Bangsamoro shall be established.

Dureza further disclosed that the proposed enabling law will be crafted by the expanded Bangsamoro Transition Commission (BTC) whose new membership will include sultanates, Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) and Indigenous Peoples. The BTC membership will expand from 15 to 21.
“Mr. Dureza emphasised the importance of the continued role of the OIC as an important partner in the peace process and he commended the achievements of the OIC, in particular, the creation of the Bangsamoro Coordination Forum (BCF),” the article said.
